Points or Store

This topic has my attention now.

I can do a store instead of points and have things like having a signature or a quote purchasable. I could also add little trinkets to purchase as well for other things. Comments?

Ohh, the point system would still be in the underlying backbone, this would be something that would run above it.

I think I would keep it the way it is now. Although, people might be more active if you do it the other way... i'm not sure. You could try it for a little while and if it doesn't work out you could change it back. Right?

i think people would more lean toward the store just because people like to buy things i would like to try the store though seems like a bit of a change.

I think that having something to reward active members is a great idea. But I think you have to be careful with what you decide to use as "rewards". You don't want to make people earn features that may be initially attracting people to the site.

The store sounds fun, but don't make people buy the avatar and signature features. I hate forums that do that.

Why? There are already point requirements for those items.

There weren't when I started my account. I didn't know you'd changed it.

They are very small amounts.

I think like 75 for a quote and something stupid like 25 for a sig. It would be the first few purchasable items at a cheap price just to get you in the store.
