I haven't had sunflower seeds in ages. Personally, I like the ones with the flavored shells. Makes me feel less weird when I don't spit them out.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I'm allergic to 'em.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

I can eat some of the shells, when they aren't too hard. They have to be salted, though! I used to (and still do...) eat salted peanut shells too. It's just annoying when the sharp sunflower seed shells stab you in the mouth as you chew.

Peanut shells? Wow.

I refuse to eat the flavoured sunflower seeds, and I love the salted more than anything. I love salt.

I used to swallow the shells all the time. I wasn't aware you could remove them when I was younger. Would cut my throat up pretty bad, though. Still do it sometimes, but a little more carefully.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

We are forever eating sunflower seeds here. We just planted about ten edible sunflowers and man do they grow fast. I hope that they keep growing because the last ones never even started to grow. So maybe we will have some of our own here soon from the sunflowers.

Everyone wants to get stabbed at an early age, but it's best to wait.

Sunflower seed shells are sharp, if you don't chew them up properly (and even then, they become splinters) you run the risk of scraping or stabbing your throat when you swallow it. Happened to me all the time as a kid. Perhaps because kids don't chew what they're eating as much as they should.

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

I prefer pumpkin seeds as well, but the other day at QT (the best convenience store EVER!), I found some pistachios in jalapeno and garlic and onion flavors. I bought a bag of the latter, and I was in total bliss. They never tasted so good!

Pistachios are the superior nut. Seed wise, it really is a toss up between sunflower and pumpkin. Homemade pumpkin seeds win though, totally.

Pumpkin seeds are salty, at least the ones I've had and made.

Typically, you have to salt them to make them salty. Unless we have a different definition of salty?

Store bought sunflower and pumpkin seeds will have salt on them, unless they say otherwise. Because it tastes better with salt.

I'd go with the sunflower seed. I don't like the texture of the pumpkin seed nearly as much. But, the sunflower seeds are much better shelled and salted, IMO.
