New Razr Phone Old Sat Aug 12, 2006 2:42:02 PM #21013 Perm Link
I just got a new Razr phone that has all the bells and whistles which I won't ever use...

At least it has a phone built in as well. Pics coming Smile.

Ohh, it has EVDO service, but Verizon wants to rape you by charging $60 for data plans... no thanks.

Why can't they make a phone that is simply a phone?

Let's see if we can jam as much useless technology into one small handheld device that overheats and blows the side of your face off when it explodes!

"If you're cramming more and more power in a small space, what you're making is a small bomb," said Carl Hilliard, president of the California-based Wireless Consumers Alliance, which has been tracking incidents of cell phone fires and explosions.

I have a freaking digital camera..no need for one on a phone. I have a radio too, why have it on a phone. Bunch of techno-de-sensitized teeny boppers are the target comsumers anyways...sheesh. IMO, any phone that is not simply a phone is worthless crap.

Looky at me I can listen to mp3's on my phone...aren't I cool? No you are a techno nerd that has bought into the industry standard of bullcrap. No-one "thinks" you are cool if you can take a pic with your phone or listen to your favorite Captain and Tenille song...fooie!

Agreed with above +1.

Verizon has locked up this phone tight. It is very funny because I OWN the phone and I should be able to do whatever I want with the phone I purchased. How dare Verizon disable Bluetooth transfer.

No problem, I'll just do some seem edits I've been reading about. Verizon has some balls to brand the entire phone everywhere.

I have the RAZR from T-Mobile. Its a great phone. My only complaint is no MP3 player in it. I would use it if it had it. I didn't go with Verizon. I think they're becoming too big. Not to mention T-Mobile gave me a great deal. At least it was at the time.

I had a RAZR for verizon. It was the single shittiest thing ever. It was always having problems and was too fragile. A lot of my friends had the same problem.

RAZRs are overrated.

I just did some seem edits to the phone and got back some hidden ring tones and got rid of the Verizon wireless banner. Assholes from Verizon. I'm going to disbale the Verizon Vcast startup and shutdown things now as well.

I have a plain old Nokia...my only complaint is that it won't wipe my ass. Must be the built-in auto toilet paper dispenser quit working...But thank god the Phone part still works...

Yeah, I just want a phone as well. The Razr does look nice, though.

I'll post all the seem edits I did to the phone. I changed tons of stuff. I'm glad you actually can edit the phone at least.

I don't see the obsession with cell phones. I consider them more of a bother, than anything.

I'm in agreement with you... but since I paid for my phone, I should be able to do what I want with it.

I don't like when you own a piece of hardware and the company you bought it from locks features out.

Case in point: Sony and the PSP.

If I buy a piece of hardware, I'll do with it what I want.

I don't care if it voids the warranty... it's mine.

Same.

Like, a friend of mine got a Dell computer. If she adds more RAM into the system, it voids the warranty.

No way... Dell does not void the warranty if you add RAM to the unit.

I have never seen that before.

Well, there were stickers going across the part saying "VOID WARRANTY IF BROKEN". The only way to put the RAM in was to break it.

Those stickers are to really discourage people from messing around if they didn't know any better. We use to work on OEM stuff and we never replaced the sticker.

That does not void the warranty. Dell does this to discourage people from opening the case.

I am really considering flashing to the Alltel firmware to get rid of the Verizon UI crap.

The date and time are so small on the phone.
