Brainfarts freaking suck...

I hate it when they happen. One minute I have this remarkable idea to type up in my essay, the next minute I cant think of a DAMN thing! Its like im Comcast or something, go from having service to none!

The worst is that damn blinking cursor on the screen.

It is like "Type something..."

And you're like "I want to do something else..."

That cursor is an asshole it doesnt know when to be patient!

I get this mainly when I am really not wanting to write. Other times the slightest things distract me, like email, forums, radio. lol

I find trying to write on the computer distracting. I try and at least start the outline and notes by hand. Once it starts, it's usually easy to keep going.

i just sit there with a full bag of gingersnaps staring at the screen...by the time the bag is half empty I at least have some remote idea of what I'm NOT going to write...by the time my bag is empty i have a sentence and call it a day

I find this an easier method for me as well. I carry a notebook with me and write things as I think of them. I can type it in later and that helps get the ball rolling when staring at the screen.

Once you get the first sentence down, everything just flows from there.

Thats the problem, Im the type of writer who, if the first sentence doesnt sound flawless then ill just stare at the cursor cursing at it for letting me delete everything I type. Thats why it takes me hours to write a 3-5 page essay

Ahh, a perfectionist are you? I used to be that way and if it is indeed something that I am truly passionate about, then I am that way as well.

I'm the type that the first sentence is always correct. I wouldn't have wrote it otherwise.

Its my inner-demon. The critic.
