Competitive Eating.

I'm watching "real Life" on MYV and it is about competitive eating. The Nathan's Hotdog champion, the japanese guy Takeru Kobayasi is making me sick! This kid does the most incredible training. He was eating 20 pounds of food at once... Have you ever tried something like that??

No I haven't ever tried this and don't think that I ever could myself. I didn't see this episode but I have seen eating contests and to be honest I think their gross. That and they make me want to gag while watching.

*thinks* 20 pounds.... lbs.... stupid latin.... stupid European unit differences.... 10 kilogrammes....

I am surprised that people don't die during these competitions from their stomach exploding...it is possible! Well at least I haven't heard of anything happening during the event.

The amount they eat is pretty gross... Must not be very fun in the bathroom after a competition like that... haha

Qualifying Rounds

* Hard-boiled eggs
o 38 eggs

* Quarter-pound sticks of butter
o the winner at 7 sticks

* Whole beef tongue
o 3 lbs to each tongue
o winner ate 1 tongue plus a few bites of another

* Hot Dogs
o 31 hot dogs - bun and all

* Mayonnaise
o 32oz. per bowl.
o winner ate 4 bowls which is equivalent to 8 pounds of mayo

* Hamburgers
o 3oz. meat patties plus the bun (fast food type burgers)
o winner ate 11

* 15 foot, 12lb. sushi roll including 2 one foot long pieces of Wasabi
o 3.8 feet consumed by winner


Wild Card Round

* Cooked (but not fried) bull testicles
o 3lbs


Finals

* Cow brain (1/3 pound each)
o one plate and on to second (not sure how much brain was on each plate)

They have a lot of competitive eating challenges in Las Vegas where I love to vacation. I've been offered tickets to a few of them, but I've never actually gone to one. It just sounds too gross...

The Mayo is where the whole competition goes down... that is extremely gross.. the winner ate 8 pounds of mayo... jesus.
