Heh. Come on though, R went way too far when they proposed death camps for gays, it was time for change.

Of course, many of the Democrats just elected are Democrats in name only, being in some cases farther to the right then the Republicans they replaced.

And most will tote the party line just as the Republicans did.

that's the problem with a two-party system - it's easily as bad as a one-party system, just the bad part takes longer to develop. Is there a liberal party that was electable at all in the US ?

Call me cynical, but I think this country's political party system only proves that there is more than one way to hell. Not that I could come up with anything better.

Zombie, you aren't up to speed on what each party stands for.

Democrats are mostly liberal, Republicans are mostly conservative.

There will be a shift in policy. It will be gradual since Bush has the executive office. This is the way government should work.

carefully re-reading previous posts here leads me to the conclusion that while the Democratic party is actually liberal, many (or some) of their elected officials do not follow what the party should be.

It happens with the Republicans as well.

Most will fall to party lines on big issues. Most are weak.

i belive that MOST of our officials start out with good intentions but somewhere along the way they fall because to few (that are in postions of athority) will stand in what they belive now of days. its a lose of backbone some say as for zombies ? "Is there a liberal party that was electable at all in the US?" there is and it has gotten more votes every year, but not so many that the Democrats or the Republicans see a threat in it to need to change there ways. i really dont care for politics personaly because all you do is choose the lesser or the two evils at the time.
