This is one of the best topics I have seen in awhile.

now that i have some more time, ill bring this thread back to life.

as far as my magic decks, i basicly played stall/mill decks. sad part about it was i never got it good enough to win in 7 turns, but i wasnt bad by all by any means. my best deck won in 10 turns. i played with that one card that mills top 10 for black blue(ravenca block) plus a few other mill cards, infernal turuor, coutersells, draw power and creature destrution. my other deck was a snake deck. Yay for infinite snake tokens!!!!!!!!

ya ill have to admit the people who played magic were good, but not that great. they mostly played for fun. ya i agree with you that it takes days to weeks to build a tier 1 deck from scratch for any game, but i still think its harder to build a yugioh deck. One example is that you can have cards in magic that make sense in the deck, but are only good for certain situations and you can have a few nonsense cards, becuase you have a lot more cards so the chances of you drawing that one card is slim. but in yugioh EVERY card counts, and that one card for that one kind of situation will fuk you up. Everything is dependant on your draw in yugioh. i can't say that for magic, but as i said before, i dont think i was ever that good so i cant say that for sure.

But in yugioh i play with people who top 8 in nationals, so they are REALLY good. i guess thats what really makes it more intresting for me, cuz there is a lot more challenge for me.

It's really pretty complicated, whereas I've whipped up damn decent Yu-Gi-Oh decks in less than 30 minutes, whereas my best Magic deck took a total of a week with both test runs and trials as well as just the original obtaining and composition of the deck.

i highly dout that, unless you just copied the main format, which most of the time doesnt take any skill to win. the newest one takes three cards and you basicly win in one turn. ya its stupid and good players dont need that, nor do they play it, cuz its easy to get around.

Is this anything like the cartoon series? I am SURE they make stuff up to make the show progress.

So Yu-Gi-Oh is based more on luck than on skill? Like a lot of gambling games?

Huh? Signature? What's going on with that signature?

In truth, the same could be said of all card-based games. Skills can overcome only so much poor hands.

Michael: Jodie, how's my schedule look for today?
Jodie: You've got a conference and dinner party at the Japanese Embassy regarding wildlife protection.
Michael: Oh, yeah...sorry, but I'll have to cancel that. I'm heading out to save America!

in the current format for most players its a lot of luck, but the new ban list is about to come out in the next month or so, so thats bound to change. And top decking only really works, if your deck is well rounded and is pretty good ...

Thats why deck making is key, to make a efficient deck so that even in bad conditions you have a good chance and can still win
