If you went this past year to indie then perhaps? I was there in a Knight of Templar outfit from Kingdom of Heaven. Maybe you saw me? I was usually accompanied by a Jedi, Cleric, Warlock, Druid and Bard?

That's one of the top 10 nerdiest things I've ever heard in my life. Considering I used to post on alt.fan.dune that's saying something.

I play D&D and Magic: The Gathering competitively. :] I saw some one around her with an Izzet Guildmage as their avatar but I don't remember who it was.

I just got Puerto Rico at this past GenCon. It was worth the money.

Yeah, i play magic too, not competitively at all, but i do enjoy a rousing game of magic.

That is just about the nerdiest things i have heard though.

Well if you went to the Con in FL then no, sorry. The last one I went to was in Indianapolis. :<
Our group did have a lot of pictures taken of us though, I'll see if I can find some of them from the internet.


On a side note, Video Games Live played a show in indy during those four days and gave a costume contest for all the GenCon people. It was a pretty good show, especially if you are in to Video Game music at all. They had that guy from the internet "The Blind Pianist" do a special Final Fantasy medley as well.

Nobody plays Magic, except me and my nerdy friends.

Ahh I didnt even notice that you were talking about Magic, sadly. I have played it a couple times. Most of my friends are obsessed with the game.

It's a pretty good game. It's no D&D but it's close.

anyone play an online version? that is; magic workstation or magic apprentice or something of that nature?

they got all the shit in their hands, and no lands to play em with, or you got a ton of lands and huge unblockables.

I have stopped playing for the last few months, need to get my friends back into it again, though for me, half the fun is in making the decks

I use apprentice for test running my decks against my other more established decks, but never play actively at all

No. Sadly, I never knew there was an online game. T_T

Well there is the official Magic: The Gathering Online but you actually have to pay for the cards and what not. I only use that to compete in the tournaments because I find it really hard to put down money for digital items.

Apprentice and Workstation allow you to use every card Wizards has put out for free and play over the internet with your friends.
I think we should get some people around here using one or both of those programs combined with maybe an IRC channel for ASE and we could have some fun.

@wilk: I almost never get a chance to play Extended! I almost always play Type 2: so the only cards that are really legal for me to use out of the ones you have posted are:

First to Desire, Blanchwood Armor, Blizzard Spectre

yeah, i enjoy playing T2, but i love sigil and all the efficient shit you can do with it

actually, if you look at my sig rotation, theres one for the adamaro and sigil deck =P
